well its been going ridiculously slow for about a month now and i dont know what to do about it its driving everyone in the house mental and i see a murder happening at anytime now the computer its self is running good but the internet is sucking balls and as an example is taking 20 days to download itunes

what can i do to fix this before someone gets killed

Upgrade your internet plan

- Check you haven't gone over your limits
- Make sure you have no torrent/p2p programs running (limewire etc)
- Do an antimalware scan (I only recommend using ComboFix and Malwarebytes Antimalware, both available courtesy of Google)

no. avg is shit.

depends on your billing cycle, it doesn't go from the 1st day of every month to the last.

dad called up telstra and they said we had not used all our usage

guess you should run those scans then. also check your network cable (if you use one) isn't fucked - look for nicks in the cable and stuff.

turn modem and router off, turn off all the computers. unplug everything out of the router and modem, put it all back together and start it all back up. if that dont work then ask telstra to walk u through setting up the modem and make sure all the settings are correct. do u have a filter on the phone and the modem? if not thats prob whats fucking you. im too lazy to put one on and every time the the phone rings my internet slows up untill i reset the modem, if i dont reset it for weeks the net runs slow for weeks

Good call. My NEW Netgear router occassionally has a spack attack and needs to be rebooted once a month or so cause it just stops responding.

Good call. My NEW Netgear router occassionally has a spack attack and needs to be rebooted once a month or so cause it just stops responding.

yeap had a couple of netgears. they run great but just randomly take a shit, reset them and they are fine again in minuites
