but why you'd need over 1000+HP for anything other then the strip id never know.

From what I've been told by the yank at work, and by other yanks - it depends on the state. Some have very lax rules, some have "nothing other then stock" rules. IE, if it didn't come from the factory like that, you can't have it.

i think michigan has the most relaxed rules from what ive heard (makes sense when you think about it)

common place to see single digit drag cars cruising around.

pretty sure i was reading somewhere on the fastest lsx powered car in texas or something. consistent 7 second car and drove to the track and back home again.

Just remember in the good ol' days even in Australia, the "mech" would drive the car to Bathurst and iron out the bugs on the way.
