By the way, I've seen a lot of good ideas thrown up here in the last couple of days that would help willowbank and new racers out quite a bit.
Does anyone have a plan to get these ideas to Willowbank?
I think it would be a pretty cool thing to submit to them as a CruisingBrisbane initiative. What do you guys think?
i think it would be a waste of time????
they make the rules, they would have thought of doing this if there was a need they have obviusly foudn there was no need...
Its up to the individual who is racing to worry about their own personal safety, if it was my first go i would either floor till half track then slow down to be aware of surroundings, i would ask many people where things are ie exit lane, who exits first, where its located, what happens if cant slow down, where does tack finish etc....
End of the day the track can be raced on safely in a 5second car, if some one in a street car cant stop whether it be because of impaired vision, failure of brakes in vehicle or just plane old brain fart it is the drivers fault not willowbank.
Which is precicely why you sign a form saying they are not responsible before you race...
Nothing can prepare you for your first time you can ask 10 different people, watch in car video's (i did this) look at track on google earth all sorts of things....
Until you do it your self you have no idea, why i suggest if it is your first time, dont try be a hero dont line up your mate to race them, take your time do a 1/2 track pass so you are aware of the layout before a full pass...
No one in the know will laugh at you for doing a half track pass you can back up on your time sheet why you ran a 22sec pass as you hit a beam at several point son track and can show you were full power to half track, its better then writing off you 30k car with no insurance because you were to busy flogging it to take in the other sights such as finish line and return road....
*attached is a google earth image of the track to look at so you can see how long you have to stop and where the return road is....
